EPY 223 Human Growth and Development
Theories of human growth and development to help students understand the mental, social, and emotional patterns of development from conception to late adulthood. Laboratory required. Fall, Spring.ED 360- Methods and Materials for Teaching Students with Special Needs
A practical course on how to provide appropriate accommodations and modifications for instruction of children with special needs in a typical inclusive and/or non-typical classroom. Common areas of exceptionalities and assistive technology for grades K-6 will be addressed. Laboratory required. FallED 471- Education Seminar
Designed to increase the competencies and knowledge base of the teacher candidate with regard to legal issues, crisis management, parent-teacher conferencing, ethical considerations, diversity, classroom management, and professional development. This seminar is taken in conjunction with clinical practice. Fall, SpringEPy 260 Survey of Exceptional Children

Theories and practices in human learning to help students develop an understanding of the nature of learning as applied in nursery schools, kindergartens, elementary grades, and high school grades. Emphasis is placed on the development and implementation of assessment systems and the professional use of standard tests and measures. Fall, SpringED 20 Internship in Collaborative Teaching
Senior interim project in collaborative education involves a full-time assignment to a resource classroom for four weeks, under joint supervision of a certified teacher and a college supervisor. Interns design, plan and implement coordinated learning experiences for children with special needs, attend weekly seminars, and participate in the development of individual programming for children.
